Fox News Digital announced Monday that Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH-04) endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy, GOP candidate for governor.
Jordan, the powerful House Judiciary Committee chairman, said, "Vivek Ramaswamy is as smart and hard-working as they come. He is a successful entrepreneur with a clear vision for Ohio’s future that includes lower taxes, more choice in education, better jobs and stronger families. I’m confident he’ll make our state proud and I am happy to endorse him for governor.”
On X, Ramaswamy announced the backing, “Jim Jordan is a legend in Ohio & fights for our country every day. Very grateful for his endorsement. Thank you, @Jim_Jordan!”

Ramaswamy told Fox News, “I’m fired up to have Congressman Jim Jordan in my corner," Ramaswamy said. "Jim’s a strong defender of American values. He’s spent his career standing up for the people of Ohio, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do as governor. Thanks, Jim, for your endorsement, your trust, and your energy."
The tech entrepreneur and author now boasts endorsements from President Donald Trump, U.S. Senators Bernie Moreno (R-OH), Mike Lee (R-UT), Rick Scott (R-FL), and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), as well as Congressman Warren Davidson (R-OH-08), Ohio Secretary Frank LaRose, and Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague, among others.
The 2026 race for Ohio governor is contested by two other Republicans – Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and former Morgan County school board president Heather Hill. One Democrat, former Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton – who resigned during COVID due to the state’s controversial mitigation strategies – has declared her candidacy.
Speculation exists that two Democrats - former Congressman Tim Ryan and former U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown - may be mulling a run for the governor’s mansion. Former Ohio State University football coach—and current Lt. Gov. of Ohio—Jim Tressel has not ruled out a run.
