Maynard Hagemeyer

It is with great sadness that our party has lost another long-term party leader. Maynard Hagemeyer, a respected Warren County Republican passed away July 16, 2017 at home in the same room he was born in November 22, 1918.

Maynard was very involved in local politics.  He served as Precinct Chairman for 30 years. He also served as Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Warren County Republican Party.  He was a Washington Township Trustee for 32 years and completed the balance of his father’s term as Warren County Commissioner in 1948.  He was honored to be an Ohio delegate for the 2000 National Republican Convention for George W. Bush.  He served on the Warren County Fair Board for 42 years and the Veteran’s Commission for 20 years.

For years, Maynard and his wife Stella opened their home for an annual Republican picnic. To me, the Hagemeyer picnic always gave Warren County Republicans a place to kick back and share a good meal with great company.

Maynard was a WWII Captain in the Army from 1941-1946 having served in Africa and Italy.  After returning from the war, he married the love of his life Stella Adcox November 16, 1945.  What started off as a random chance blind date, turned into 71 wonderful years of marriage in 2016.  Maynard managed the family farm in Clarksville, Ohio from the late 1940’s until 2007.  The farm saw lots of transition over the years between:  Excavating, Fertilizer, 6000 Chickens and horse breeding.

Maynard is survived by his wife Stella, 4 kids, 8 grand-kids, 10 great-grandchildren and an endless number of life-long friends.  The family will receive friends from 3-6 pm Friday, July 21 at Stubbs-Conner funeral home in Waynesville. A celebration of Maynard’s life will be held at 6 pm at the funeral home.
